Lorient striker Kevin Gameiro has dropped a hint that he is ready to join Valencia this summer, leaving Newcastle United disappointed in the process.

Newcastle are believed to have had an offer of £10 million accepted for the player, who has linked up with the French national side ahead of their Euro 2012 qualifier against Belarus on Friday.

However, Gameiro has also attracted interest from Valencia, who finished third in La Liga to qualify for the Champions League, and his career aspirations do not bode well for Magpies boss Alan Pardew.

"The choice of my next club, we will think about later, but I hope it is soon after the international," Gameiro said.

"I love Spain, they play ball, it is the game that I love. If I go abroad it will be to play in the Champions League."

However Gameiro has also made encouraging noises regarding a move to Paris Saint Germain.
