Warnock could replace Enrique at Newcastle United

Post  Guest on Wed Jun 08, 2011 6:03 am

Stephen Warnock has been linked with a move to Newcastle United Football Club.

Alan Pardew accepts he has a huge task on his hands trying to keep hold of Jose Enrique, who is an £18million target for Premier League rivals Liverpool.

The uncapped Spaniard has just twelve months left on his contract at St James Park, and the Magpies would hate to lose him for nothing this time next year.

Pardew is looking for potential replacements for the former Villarreal fullback, with Swansea City star Neil Taylor, 22, believed to have made the shortlist.

However, the News of the World claim England international Warnock, 29, is another target, as he seeks a move away from Aston Villa after falling out of favour.
