NEWCASTLE RELEASE TRIO

Post  Guest on Fri Jun 17, 2011 1:44 am

Following Newcastle's sale of skipper Kevin Nolan to West Ham, they have announced the release of three players in preparation for the new season.

The Magpies have already announced the release of veterans Sol Campbell and Shefki Kuqi and following them out of the door at St. James' is youngster Patrick McLaughlin.

After Andy Carroll's £35 million transfer to Liverpool in January which broke the transfer record for the highest fee paid for a British player, Newcastle have cash to spend this summer.

They have been linked with a number of players so far in the summer transfer window, as well as having a number of their own players linked with moves away from St. James' Park. The exits of these three players could be the beginning of a bust summer for Newcastle United.

Well, we are always going to be shipping players out because let's be honest, everyone can't play and it's pointless keeping a youngster who will probably never ever see the first team picture at the club, so it's best that the kid has a chance to make it somewhere else, where his career might take an upturn.
As for Campbell and Kuqi, it's minimal services rendered and thanks but we can't be seen to cater for hangers on.
