Who's This Charming Man? Barton parades new quiff... days after Morrissey meeting

Post  1892NUFF on Fri Jul 08, 2011 1:23 am

He's considered by many to be a bit of a Bigmouth, but those who have got to know Joey Barton have often asked: 'Who's This Charming Man?'

Just ask Morrissey - Stop Me If You Think That You've Heard This One Before, but the former Smiths frontman met indie-loving Barton backstage at Glastonbury last month.

And the great lyricist appears to have rubbed off on Barton, judging by the new hairstyle sported by the Newcastle midfielder on his return to pre-season training this week.

Barton's locks bear more than a passing resemblance to Morrissey's famous quiff.

It's not your everyday hairstyle, but Is it Really So Strange? Whatever the answer, the only Newcastle fans will want to Ask is: What Difference Does It Make to his playing powers?

Barton's future at the club had looked shaky just a few weeks ago after the departure of his great mate Kevin Nolan to West Ham. The pair went Hand In Glove in the Newcastle midfield, and Barton questioned who would be next to leave the Toon.

But before the Geordie faithful Panic, Barton looked fit and focused on preparing for the new season at the club's Longbenton training ground.

And that's even despite Alan Smith leaving the club this summer.
