MODIBO MAIGA will finally seal his Newcastle move if he passes a medical.

The Sochaux striker is due on Tyneside today to hurdle the final obstacle to his £7million transfer.

Maiga, 24, went on strike at the start of the season in a bid to secure a move to Tyneside.

But he may have to wait to make his Premier League debut because he will be playing for Mali in the Africa Cup of Nations.
