Newcastle push to get pair out of Africa
Alan Pardew will push to have Senegal stars Demba Ba and Papiss Demba Cisse back in Newcastle next week ahead of the clash with Aston Villa.
Defeat by Equatorial Guinea on Wednesday means Senegal cannot reach the Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.
They play their last group match on Sunday and Newcastle are hoping the pair will quickly return to the North East, but it is felt it's unlikely they will be able to face Blackburn on Wednesday.
“We have to contact Senegal and they might want the squad to fly back together,” said Toon boss Pardew.
“But we’re pushing to get them back. They will definitely be involved against Aston Villa.”
