Newcastle Star Peter Lovenkrands loves playing on Tyneside
NEWCASTLE United are stalling on a new deal for Dane Peter Lovenkrands.
The seven-goal striker’s contract runs out in June of next year and he would love to sign an extension as soon as possible. But Lovenkrands has revealed that he is still waiting for a sign from the club’s top brass that they want to keep him.
“This is my third season, I love it here,” he said.
“I’ve got one year left on my deal, but hopefully it can be extended for as long as possible.
“I would love an extension – we’re getting to the last year now.
“I want to stay here at Newcastle, it’s a fantastic club and it has been brilliant so far.”
The former Rangers man is not the only United star heading for the final 12 months of his contract.
In addition to high-profile duo Joey Barton and Jose Enrique, Danny Guthrie, Alan Smith, Shola Ameobi, Kazenga LuaLua and Tamas Kadar all have a year left.
