hey! in this i will talk about the ever controversial Alan Pardew, i think all newcastle fans can remember that day when they sat infront of their tele or turned on the radio to hear the very suprising news Chris Hughton had been reliefed of all his duties at the club. but why? nobody really knows why chris was sacked but their was many rumours, some more likely than others. like he felt out with peter beardsley or that ashley believed we couldnt go any further with him as manager. in my opinion that would be very unfair not to give him the job till the end of the season to see how he did. instead of doing the same we have always done and sacked him with nobody able to come in with immediate effect meaning we were voulnerable to our next few matches with no proper manager to take charge and win us the games.

their was many candidates to take the job as manager aln curbishly, klinnsman and of course alan pardew. but when klinnsman ruled him self out of the running our best bets were two rather poor premier league managers, which made im sure all the newcastle fans think what the hell are we doing here and mike what are you doing? but 5 months ago our fears came true pardew, mike ashleys supposed best friend, was announced the newcastle manager. the first press conference from pardew was always going to have to be an influential one, his calm soft voice would have to work wonders with the fans. pardew mentioned hughton alot more than i thought sayin he was a great man and he had the up most respect for him but mainly that he wasnt to blame. then the most important bit promising the fans a trophy, and if there is one thing you dont want to do to newcastle fans is build up their hopes because they have been let down many times before.i can immagine many die hard nufc supporters were fuming as much as me and knew the game at liverpool would be a great way to be able to vent our frustration. it was a night game with an expected full capacity, but not to see the new manager thats for sure. thousands flocked to the entrance of st james' with non stop chants about mike ashley and derek lambias, which was to be expected after a bad week for the reputaion of the club, although i guess we have sort of got used to them kind of weeks.

these protest were continued throughout when all the fans flocked to there seats just in time for the match to start. an excellent atmosphere for all the wrong reasons. when the game kicked off there was a massive roar as manager and fans were up for this game. pardew just this week qouted teh dressing room was excellent and they all pulled together really well and were a great unit from the begining of my reign to the end of the season. this was obviously shown by a great performance by the toon, who pulled of an outstanding 3-1 win over a strong liverpool side. carrol scoring the third against his current club in a nervy end. after the game the predicted protest didnt happen because of the outstanding win we all put the hughton problem to the back of our mind. even some people joked and said chris who? i know they didnt mean it but it sure did kind of feel that way with such a promising start to the pardew era.

ive never really liked many of pardews old clubs and the way they played, like charlton they were boring in the prem and ever since have just managed to become worse, west ham just an ordinary team never really a threat and an easy 6 points of them.even though they did reach and win the FA cup final. then came southampton a big step down for pardew in league one. he was expected to get them promoted which was maybe a bit ambitious since they had a ten point deduction. then the obvious happened and they didnt get promoted and pardew was sacked even though he came very close and probably would have got them promoted this season, but it wasnt to be.

pardews next to games proved to be very hard hard one against, up and coming, man city who managed to beat us 3-1 even though they didnt have much possession or chances. then came harry redknapps totenham who strolled to a two nil win on a day doubts over pardew were rekindled after a very poor performance. then our form just began to change with a boring but important 1-0 win over wigan who werent the best competitors to be fair. then the most important game for pardew yet against west ham, we went out there confident after a win over wigan boosted morale and newcastle fans came to the game and were very loud throughout the match. 18 minutes into the match best with his first first team premier league match for us put us 1-0 ahead much to the delight of the home fans and alan pardew. he then made it 2-0 20 minutes later, which shut up the travelling fans. we then made it 3-0 through a kevin nolan to pretty much secure the result just before half time. then we decieded 3-0 wasnt enough when best made it 4-0 which was well deserved after a great performance giving him a hat-rick then another star of the match lovenkrands topped of a great night and made it 5-0 so the fans would go home happy yet again. our minds were now set on sunderland who we would hope to beat again after our amazing 5-1 victory over them on halloween. nolan as usual scored our goal against sunderland which proved to be the only goal for a long time until steve harper parried out a long ranged shot off gyan who then clamed the goal in the 95th minuted to disrupt our celebration and send geordie bruce into a massive celebration which included a very red face and his one weeks worth of running completed. the same happened when tottenham came up to play a well prepared newcastle team who took the lead through colloocini's well taken half a chance, we dominated the match till lennon in the 91st minute took on simpson and drilled it into steve harpers net.

during january pardew became a very busy man as he brung in crocked hatem ban arfa on a full for 5.75 mil who newcastle fans were glad to see signed on a full. then stephen ireland on a loan who seemed to be a waste of time only playing 2 or 3 games for the club on a pay as you play contract. we also brung in kuqi who i can only imagine we bought him for back up because of the lack of quality strikers we have. then the worst happened the newcastle lad andy carrol was sold to liverpool for a whopping 35mil. many fans were distraught and pardew and carroll were the first to talk about the departure even though neither made it to clear about why this happened, whether carroll wanted to go or was forced out by mike ashley. we had to move on and we did we made a bid for ex newcastle player nzogbia for 10mil but was rejected and then again at 12mil. maybe this is the sign of things to come clubs charging to much because they know we have got a lot of money.

in the next game carroll was well and truely missed when we got beat of fulham one nil and we created no chances and there was no airiel threat at all. we really needed this season to end then so we could quickly sign a replacement for him. but... in the next game it all looked to be happening again against arsenal when after 1 minute walcott put them infront and 2 minutes later djourou made it 2-0 i thought we would lose 7-0 nil at that point and my fears grew when after 10 minutes it was 3-0 when van persie scored a typical arsenal goal and again at 26 minutes, the game was dead and buried at that point it was just how many we would lose by. then something amazing happened when the seconed half began and diaby got sent off for pushing barton to the floor who some how kept calm throughout it all. we then made 4-1 through a barton panalty in the 68th minute then best raising hope with an easy header to make it 4-2 with 12 minutes to go in the game. after that we got another penalty rather controversialy but barton put it away to give us hope of making it 4-4. then in the 87th minute a barton freekick was put in a knocked out to tiote who left foot volleyed it past the helpless szchezny to make it 4-4 to pardew delight and the fans bemusement. it really was a game of two halfs and only pardew, barton and tiote were to thank for being highly influential throught out the game which was arguebly the best game of the season.

our next few games towards the end of the season were the less interesting ones like the 0-0 at blackburn and the 2-0 win at birmingham, showing hints of pardews old boring style of play. followed by a 1-1 draw at bolton which saw taylor sent off and a 2-1 loss at everton. our form was going in the wrong direction and that was shown by a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of stoke. but we came to prove our self again winning convicibly at home to wolves 4-1 pardew's influence shone again until a day to forget at villa narrowly losing 1-0 through collins' glancing header. then came the best 0-0 draw for us this season against champions man united mostly dominated by newcastle. some more boring games came and went balckpool 1-1 where we struggled to draw to say the least and a bad 3-0 defeat to liverpool where carrol played against his old club. then another dull game against birmingham dominated by newcastle possession wise to allow us to win 2-1 through steven taylor and ameobi. after that things get better as we travelled to stamford bridge not expecting much from it but going 2-1 behind was bad then steven taylor in the last seconed headed home to secure a point for pardew's men. the final game of the season came along against a strong West brom by 16 minutes steven taylor scored his 3rd goal in as many games to kick of the scoring followed by lovenkrands and an excellent own goal by olsson to make it 3-0 at half time. but a fantastic seconed half performance by tchoyi and a even better hat-rick made it 3-3 and a very upseting way to end the season, although that wouldnt stop us applauding our players after the match because of the excellent season we had and we hope pardew will deliver more.

qouted by pardew saying "
[b]we can be bigger and better next season"

I can only hope next season can be better, some new signings and a great crowd to go with it. Good look next season lads. To conclude i hope Pardew continues the good work he has done, and best wishes.

Pardew: We can be bigger and better next season.
