Our finances Empty Our finances

I know many fans feelings on the subject of Ashley being a greedy bar-steward and many question his outlay over the seasons right up until now but does anyone really know the true ins and outs of how financially decrepit the club was when he took over?
By my reckoning, he has or is trying to play it tight transfer dealing wise until he knows we are in a position to do our dealing from the coffers of the club and not the linings of his very own pocket, which defeats the object of running the club/business or whatever you want to call it.
I understand fans will argue that 'speculate to accumulate' is the order of the day for success but it doesn't always work out like that does it, especially for a club that was in such a precarious position such as ours was.

I know many fans have used the words 'I don't trust him' or 'he's a liar' or 'he wants to get his money back then scarper', but seriously if he wanted to do that without a care for the club, he could have just sold off all of our best performers when we went down and recouped his money and sold off, leaving him on par of maybe in profit.

He didn't do that and instead kept the high wage earners and bank rolled their wages in the championship, regardless of it being a debt to himself. The fact is, the debt the club/business owes him is interest free and even the most friendliest bank wouldn't dream of that.

How many times have we all heard of the ongoing saga of the pro/anti Ashley debates, many times right ?

I'm typing this because I'm banging his drum, erm , I mean I'm of the understanding that what he's doing is for the long term good of the club and until our finances get into full and healthy shape "from within the club" then we have to accept (for the time being) that we will scour the planet for quality at a price that suits us. It certainly doesn't mean we are bringing in any lesser quality it just means cheaper/affordable.

Naturally, with his stance on keeping the wages to a sensible bracket, some players will rattle the cage when other interested clubs start to offer higher wages but that rend is waning amongst the majority of clubs because they too can see just what throwing money about like confetti can do to a club in short order.

I don't expect anyone to agree with what I'm saying but that's my take on things and I believe if he is allowed to run this club without certain fans unrolling the blanket banners, we will be in good fighting shape in a few years with players that are hungry and of the quality to take us further forward.

I know what you're all thinking, you are thinking, 'is Wolfie mad' lol and the answer is, yes I'm mad but I'm deadly serious in how I view the way the club is heading and only time will tell if my thoughts were correct. Smile Our finances 2856733358 Our finances 988534086
