UNSETTLED ... Nicklas Bendtner wants to leave Arsenal this summer for first-team football.

NEWCASTLE United are considering a move for Arsenal’s Nicklas Bendtner.
The striker is desperate to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer after failing to nail down a regular starting place.
And the Gazette understands Newcastle are among the clubs with an ineterest in the 23-year-old.
The club was also today linked with Bayer Leverkusen’s Eren Derdiyok, who Kevin Keegan was keen to sign three years ago.
Manager Alan Pardew – who had hoped to bring Paris Saint-Germain’s Melvut Erding to St James’s Park – is hopeful of a breakthrough in his long-running search for a striker to replace Andy Carroll over the coming days.
And one bookmaker has slashed its odds on Bendtner joining United in the transfer window to evens.
The Denmark international has conceded ahead of last night’s game against Scotland at Hampden Park that he’s unhappy at Saturday’s opponents Arsenal, the club he joined from FC Copenhagan six years ago.
“I would like to play at a place where you are happy and play every week – that’s the most important thing for any football player – and hopefully that’ll happen soon,” said Bendtner.
However, Bendtner – who has scored 22 goals for Arsenal – has also been linked with Stoke City.
Derdiyok was watched by Newcastle’s chief scout Graham Carr playing for Switzerland against Liechtenstein last night.
The 23-year-old – whose international team-mate Tranquillo Barnetta has also been watched by United – scored in a 2-1 win over his country.
Derdiyok had been a target for Keegan in his second spell as manager while he was at former club FC Basel.
Meanwhile, midfielder Joey Barton’s representative, Willie McKay, has reportedly held talks with Stoke City this week, while ambitious Russian side Zenit St Petersburg have also been credited with an interest in the 28-year-old.
Barton was made available on a free transfer last week after falling out of favour at Newcastle.
However, the 28-year-old has been back training with the first-team this week after a spell with the development group, and could yet be involved in the season-opener against Arsenal
